Handmade Cards for any Occasion!

Card-making has always been a hobby of mine since I was a child. My Mother always encouraged us to write thank-you letters or make our own cards as she believes they mean so much more than the bought variety. Hand made cards show you really care because of the time and thought spent on each and every one. I've tried to instill this in my own kids and we often have 'card-making' days when the Irish weather is at its worst! They really enjoy it and it's an amazingly creative way to eat-up the hours.

I've made every sort of card from Wedding cards/invitations, Thank-you cards, Christening cards, Condolence cards, Christmas cards, House-warming cards/invitations, and personalized Birthday cards.

Every few months or so when my stocks are getting low, I'll spend two or three days just making cards. It's a great way to express yourself on a very small scale, and it's where I can be really bold with colour.

It's also a great way to use up the smaller scraps of decorative papers, leaving nothing to waste! Everything you need can be purchased from a stationary/craft shop or more cheaply via the internet. There are some amazing websites, one of my favourites for decorative papers is www.basicgrey.com - have a look, it may just inspire you too!
